Sunwood Residents:

There is a Tropical Storm Watch for inland Miami-Dade County. Tropical Storm force wind gusts are expected to impact Sunwood beginning today through Thursday.  The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for South Florida as there is a potential for tornadoes as the heavier rainbands come across South Florida tonight through Wednesday.  Local weather agencies estimate our area can anticipate 3 to 8 inches of rain from today through Thursday September 29, with flash and urban flooding possible.

Use showers and toilets sparingly especially if the parking lots become flooded. During previous storms, flooding of the county's main sewer lines have resulted in Sunwood experiencing backups and slow to flush toilets on the first floors. We ask everyone to use water sparingly and avoid routine/peak hours of use all day Wednesday to alleviate any possibility of backups on the first floor.

Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor furniture and other unsecured items. If you experience any roof leaks or water intrusion please email pictures to with your unit number and contact information.

Glass containers & food are not allowed in the pool area

Dear residents,

We ask that residents and their guests follow the pool rules at Sunwood when in the pool area.

No food or drink is allowed inside the fenced pool area at any time. This is a regulation by the Miami Dade County Health Department. The rules also do not allow any type of glass containers to be brought into the pool area.  Concerned residents have notified the Association that food and drinks (including glass containers) have been brought inside the pool area. Failure to comply with the pool rules can lead to violations by the Miami Dade County Health Department and eventual closing of the pool area.

Call Box Electrical Outage

 Dear Residents,

Unfortunately a lightening strike on Wednesday July 13th caused damage to the call box/gate entry system at Sunwood.  The entry gates for the parking lots must remain open in order to provide access for all residents, visitors, delivery services, and post office personnel . The replacement of damaged equipment will take approximately 2 weeks to complete. We thank you for you patience as our gate service provider works to make the necessary repairs.

Put A Stop To Littering At Sunwood

Dear Residents,

Help put a stop to littering at Sunwood. We have noticed an increase in littering around the condominium hallways, plants, stairwells, and parking lots.  Recently children's items such as a plastic bottle for bubbles, empty jello cup left by the stairs, children snack bags at the entrance, and wet wipes on the hallway second floor. Please make sure to always check and clean up after your children if they go outside with any items, and please let them know that they should never leave anything outside or in the hallways.  We appreciate your help and cooperation to keep Sunwood looking its best!
